Course Description

The Occupational Certificate: Occupational Certificate: Wearables, Accessories and Peripherals Repairer (NQF Level 4) is a nationally recognised qualification registered on the South African Qualifications Authority framework and quality assured by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations. This programme is designed to equip learners with the practical skills and technical knowledge required to diagnose, repair and maintain wearable devices, electronic accessories and peripheral equipment. The course focuses on both hardware and basic software troubleshooting, ensuring that learners can safely dismantle, assess, repair and reassemble devices according to industry standards. Learners are trained to use appropriate tools, testing equipment and replacement components while following occupational health and safety procedures. The programme integrates theoretical learning, practical workshop training and workplace experience to ensure job readiness. On completion, graduates are competent to work in repair centres, retail technical support environments or operate their own small repair businesses. The qualification responds to the growing demand for skilled technicians in the digital and mobile technology sector. Successful learners must complete all knowledge, practical and workplace modules and pass an external integrated summative assessment to obtain certification.

NQF Level 3 or equivalent prior qualification (e.g., Grade 11) is generally expected for entry into an NQF 4 occupational programme. 

Demonstrated competence in communication and numeracy (literacy and basic maths) to cope with technical content.
