Course Description

The Occupational Certificate: Occupational Certificate: Laptop Repairer (NQF Level 4) is a nationally recognised qualification registered with the South African Qualifications Authority and quality assured by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations. This programme equips learners with practical skills and technical knowledge to diagnose, maintain, and repair laptop computers to industry standards. Learners gain hands-on experience in dismantling, inspecting, assessing, and reassembling laptop components safely. The course covers hardware troubleshooting, software installation, updates, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal device performance. Students are trained to use the correct tools and testing equipment while following health and safety practices. The programme combines theory, practical workshops, and workplace-based learning to prepare learners for real-world repair scenarios. Graduates can work in retail service centres, corporate IT support, or as independent repair technicians. The course also develops problem-solving, critical thinking, and documentation skills, enabling learners to provide detailed repair reports. NQF Level 3 or equivalent prior qualification (e.g., Grade 11) is generally expected for entry into an NQF 4 occupational programme. 

Demonstrated competence in communication and numeracy (literacy and basic maths) to cope with technical content.
